1981-’82: Started Kyokushin Karate & Daitoryu Aikijujutsu. 1983: Started Jujutsu (WJJF), Jukado, Yoshinkan Aikido & Aikibudo, Taekwon-Do ITF. Tried various martial arts: such as Chinese, Thai, Indonesian Silat, Filipino, Korean, Japanese Koryu, Vietnamese. Visited Daitoryu in France and Germany. 1991-1994: Opened dojo in Johannesburg, South Africa. 2nd Dan in Aikido. 1995: Attended 3-day seminar of Kyokushin (1st after Mas Oyama’s death) under Kancho Shokei Matsui, Shihan Midori, Shihan Sanpei , Shihan Gorei. Relocated to Cape Town: full-time 2nd Dan instructor of Kyokushin Karate under Shihan Hennie Bosman (7th Dan Kyoshi Director for Africa Kyokushin-kan), and further studied Kyokushin under Shihan Bosman. Opened Daitoryu Aikijujutsu Dojo in Cape Town. 1996: Applied to become student of Sagawa Yukiyoshi Sohan in Japan. There was no reply, since Sohan never allowed foreign students. However, every year persistently sent another letter to Sagawa Dojo. 2000: Liujia, Taiwan: Became the first foreign student and “inside-student” of Feeding Crane’s Headmaster: Shifu Liu, Chin-Long. 2000: Taichung, Taiwan: Attended Instructors course and qualified in Baguazhang & Xingyiquan under Chen, Yun-Jing Shifu in Taichung, Taiwan. 2001: Sapporo, Japan: Became “uchideshi” of Daitoryu Aikijujutsu Shihan Hiro Iida (7th Dan) in Sapporo, Japan. 2001: Tokyo, Japan: Joined classes of Daitoryu Aikijujutsu Roppokai Hombu. 2001: Tokyo, Japan: Received instruction under Shihan Tatsuo Kimura (10th Gen Okuden Shihan) – the successor of Sohan Yukiyoshi Sagawa. Additional training in Japan: Aikido, Katori Shinto-ryu Kenjutsu, Jodo, Shorinji Kempo. 2002: Moved to Taiwan. Given permission by Shihan Kimura to become his first foreign student. Started from white belt again. Visited Japan every year, and from 2006 – every 2 years.
2003: Attended the 1st Level course “Daitoryu Aiki-Bujutsu Dai-Ichigen Jikiden Koshu” under Shihan Kimura. Given permission by Shihan to open private Dojo of Daitoryu (Taiwan Daitoryu Aikibujutsu Kenkyukai). 2005: Promoted to 1st Dan in Daitoryu Aiki-Bujutsu under Shihan Kimura. 2009: Decided to open public class of Jujutsu for Self-Defence and started to establish my own curriculum as Goshin-Ju-Jutsu Daitoryu. 2010: Became a member and was appointed as a representative for WEBBS Taiwan. Promoted to 6th Dan Shihan of Goshin-Jujutsu Daitoryu by WEBBS Director Soke Bryan Cheek.
